The Challenge Presented
Genesis wanted to demonstrate its commitment to helping rural New Zealanders lower their total cost of energy, while creating meaningful engagement with Fieldays attendees in a highly competitive event environment.
The Strategy Created
To bring Genesis’ energy solutions to life, Bastion developed PowerPutt, an interactive mini-golf activation designed to educate and entertain. The experience featured three themed putting greens, each linked to a key Genesis offering that could help reduce energy costs: Solar, The Great Lightbulb Switch and EV Home Plan. Visitors were encouraged to complete the courses, interact with digital touchpoints and learn about practical ways to save on energy, all while entering to win a $10,000 prize. The activation transformed product education into a hands-on experience that was easy for rural audiences to engage with.
The Strength Achieved
The activation delivered strong engagement and stand traffic throughout the event, with 2,500 attendees participating in at least one of the PowerPutt putting greens. By combining entertainment with product education, Genesis was put in a position of strength with rural customers, reinforcing its commitment to helping them lower their overall energy costs.
